Topola - Oplenac

Topola is a town and municipality located in the Sumadija district of central Serbia. It was the place where Karadjordje, a Serbian revolutionary, was chosen as the leader of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire in 1804. The local St. George Church is the burial place of the Ducal and Royal Family of Serbia and Yugoslavia (the Karadjordjevic). Topola has the preconditions necessary for development of a tourism industry. Historical and cultural monuments that exist revolutionary and royal (Karageorge’s town), ecclesiastical (St. George’s church, Nikolje monasteries). It is a wine region (Oplenac), and a large hunting ground Kamenica.

Departure from hotel in Belgrade. You will meet your tour guide around 09.00h. Driving to Topola. Roads filled with beautiful orchards, fields and meadows reach to Topola. Oplenac, a hill in Topola, where is the foundation and mausoleum of the Karadjordje family. That is the Church of St. George. The church was built by King Petar I Karadjordjevic in the 1930s as his foundation. There is a family tomb of Karadjordjevica, and there are currently the remains of all deceased members of the forked house. After visiting the church, we will use our time to visit the house of King Peter, where the museum of the Karadjordjevic family, the royal vineyards and the Wine house where the art gallery is now located. After the sightseeing of these sights, we afre walking to Topola, where we will visit Karadjordjev dom and the Karadjordjevo Church. Here is now the exhibition site and museum of the First Serbian Uprising and the Karadjordje Museum.

After visiting Topola, we continue towards Orasac, the place where the first Serbian Uprising was organized by Karadjordje. History says that this uprising  was the first in this part of Europe, and that he marked the departure of the Ottoman Empire from these areas. Orasac is a protected area, which the Republic of Serbia protected in 1968 as a famous place for the Serbian people. We will visit Maricevic’s jaruga and museum, and we can visit the church, school and cemetery where you can see tombstones of the famous warriors and heroes of the first Serbian uprising.

After Orasac, we will continue to Arandjelovac. Arandjelovac is a small city  in Serbia under the hills of Bukulje, which is famous for its mineral waters and white marble. It should be noted that this marble is located in the White House and in many other places across the world.  Lunch Break at restaurant optionally . We visit Bukovicka Spa and Bukovicki Park. There is one hot and 4 cold mineral water springs. Its carbonic-acid alkaline water is one of the most famous in Europe and in the world, good for the treatment of various diseases. After visiting Arandjelovac, return to Belgrade. Back to Belgrade at late afternoon hours.
